From specialist access work at height to repairing timber, render, signage and the multi-storey car park, the project refreshed the hotel's exterior while preserving its professional appearance and ensuring a welcoming first impression for every guest.
James Brown Painting & Decorating were proud to deliver an extensive external refurbishment programme at the Midlands Park Hotel, one of the Midlands' leading hotels and a landmark building in the centre of Portlaoise. The project involved refreshing the hotel's exterior while ensuring it continued to present the high standards expected by both guests and visitors.
Due to the scale of the building, much of the work was carried out at height using specialist access equipment, including cherry pickers, allowing our team to safely access every section of the hotel's façade. Before any painting commenced, damaged timber and areas of external render were carefully repaired to provide a sound, long-lasting finish. Existing signage was also professionally cleaned and repaired, restoring its appearance while maintaining consistency across the building's exterior.
The refurbishment included the complete preparation and repainting of the hotel's rendered surfaces and external timberwork, breathing new life into the façade while protecting it from the elements. Every surface was meticulously prepared to ensure a durable, high-quality finish capable of withstanding the demands of a busy town centre environment.
As part of the wider project, our team also undertook the cleaning and repainting of the cast concrete multi-storey car park. Years of weathering and environmental staining were removed before protective coatings were applied, significantly improving the appearance of the structure and creating a brighter, more welcoming arrival experience for hotel guests.
Working around the daily operation of a busy four-star hotel required careful planning, clear communication and flexible scheduling.
